We've had great fun this afternoon, as mentioned in my earlier post we decided not to go out, we've stayed in and had a magical time - we put the Christmas tree up together. Gosh, it was beautiful - I've been imagining the scene for so long in my mind, my baby and I putting the tree up and getting into the spirit of Christmas, it didn't disappoint. We both love Christmas and we're both children at heart, so to put the two of us and Christmas together well, we've had such a brilliant time - my baby said times like this were made for us; it's perhaps the truest comment ever made.
If you've been keeping up with my blog you'll already know that I bought a new Christmas tree recently - a fibre optic twig tree with big, bold stars on it. I saw it in the shop and instantly fell in love with it; it's been in the box since I bought it so today was the first time I got to see it up close and the first time my baby had seen it at all, barring the photo on the box. We were so excited - all smiles and fingers and thumbs, it was just so innocent and childlike; nothing mattered barring the task at hand, we lost ourselves in each other and in the spirit of Christmas.
Christmas music was playing on the stereo, I bought Bob Dylan Christmas in the heart on vinyl last week and I kept it especially to play today - we were singing along, taking time out to dance together and just being silly with each other. The album got some seriously bad press when it was released, it was slated, but I think it's fantastic; it really does get you in the Christmas spirit, I mean Bob Dylan covering Christmas standards in his own enigmatic way, what more could anyone ask for? My baby thought it was okay but nothing great, each to their own I guess, but he did surprise me; afterwards I played Bright Eyes (Connor Oberst) Christmas album and he absolutely loves it. I could not believe it because it's seriously left-field, again it's a cover of Christmas standards but as you've never heard them before. I'm a big fan of Bright Eyes anyway, so I love the album and his interpretation of the songs; but to see my baby stop what he was doing and exclaim that the album is great really did blow me away. He asked for a copy of the CD but I went one better, I gave him the CD because I've got the album on vinyl winging it's way from the USA as I type; suffice to say I got a very big hug and lots of kisses for my kindness. I adore hugs and kisses, and I adore my boyfriend xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox.
We carefully took the tree from the box, put it in its base and started to unfurl and shape the branches. My baby had me in fits of laughter again, he said you can tell we're both gay due to the how precise we were being and the attention to detail we were showing. He was right, oh my gosh - we were carefully making sure all the branches were spread out equally, standing back to make sure the overall effect was good, asking each other our opinion, before returning to make small adjustments that, to be honest, really didn't matter. It was a seriously gay moment, it was hilarious after he mentioned it because I couldn't get it out of my mind and we still carried on regardlessly as before - each time my baby stepped back to see if the tree looked good I was on my knees on the floor creased up with laughter. Which in turn started my baby off laughing and made him mischievous to boot, he took the opportunity to push me down and pin me to the ground; he held me there and said he wasn't letting me go until I stopped laughing at him. Which was a silly thing to say whilst he was still laughing and of course I couldn't stop laughing even if I wanted to, I was just lay looking up into my baby's face, unable to struggle due to laughing. He then began teasing me, bowing his head towards mine, feigning to kiss me before pulling away at the last second; in the end I begged him for a kiss but he wouldn't do it until I said pretty please I love you. I got my kiss in the end, I got lots of kisses, my baby makes me so horny when he takes control.............
Eventually we finished the tree, we plugged it in and, well my baby called it, he said it was magical and it truly is. It looks awesome, it's real minimalistic, as I said it's twig tree - it's just bare branches and twigs but man is it different; all of the branches and twigs are studded with fibre optic strands that glisten and sparkle through different colours, and the big bold brightly coloured stars just make it. We both stood watching as dusk descending and the light faded away, waiting for the tree to come alive; we closed the curtains, turned the lights off in the lounge and marvelled at its beauty.
We cleared up and celebrated a job well done with freshly brewed coffee and mince pies, it's been a great day, it's felt just like Christmas...........

I have never seen such a wonderful tree as that before, it is beautiful.
