Reasons to be straight

It's okay blogger world I've not lost the plot, turned mad or even worse changed my sexuality - rest assured I still fancy guys and there's one guy in particular who I love to bits, my boyfriend, my baby and my sweetheart who's currently hard at work. Well not exactly hard at work, he's on a break at the moment and has just phoned me - just so very thoughtful of him and the words he speaks are so very beautiful, just like him. I love you babes xoxoxoxoxoxox.
Oh my, I'm getting somewhat sentimental here boys and girls, but you don't mind do you? If he was your boyfriend you'd know what I mean and how I feel; he's the cutest, sexiest, kindest and most loveable boyfriend ever and on top of that he's a bona fide sex god too. And if that wasn't enough he's all mine, no one else's, just mine; when I think about it, as I've just done after writing the last couple of sentences, it makes me so happy - he makes me so happy. But I'm heading way off track now, hang on a minute whilst I reel myself back in............
Last night we watched one of my favourite movies, Fargo by the Coen Brothers; I've seen it way too many times although I don't think I could ever tire of watching it but it passed my baby by. It's a wonderfully glorious movie, basically about a kidnap plot that goes wrong, ends up with multiple homicides (you see I've gone all American as per the movie!) and is left to the heavily pregnant Chief of Police in a small, winter bound town to figure it all out. If you've seen any of the Coen Brothers work you'll know there's plenty of twists and turns along the way; and despite the darkness at the centre of the movie it's also shot through with humour, warmth and human endeavour. It's that sense of warmth and human endeavour that always hits home when I watch it; the homicides, the acts of violence, the nihilism of the central characters and the ice and snow ravaged landscape in which it's set is outshone by a small side story within the movie that I'm sure was placed there with such a purpose.
Throughout the movie you get small glimpses into the personal and home life of the Chief of Police, Marge and her husband Norm. Each time the movie turns to them together just doing ordinary, everyday things you get a real sense of warmth and shelter from both the weather and the crazy dealings going on in the world outside. It's so beautifully portrayed, so beautifully shot and beautifully acted it's impossible not to feel for them and feel their love and understanding for each other. It's the light in the darkness of the film and the sense of two people helping and supporting each other through life, of finding comfort in each other whilst doing the most ordinary of things is overwhelming. I appreciate it's just a movie, that it's not real - that their love is nothing more than a script, but it's the most perfect portrayal of a married couple I've ever seen. It's the best reason I've ever witnessed to be straight.
Then I turned to my baby, we were holding hands pretty much throughout, he was transfixed; it's the first time I've ever watched the movie with someone else and it brought it all back home. It all made perfect sense, more than ever...........
