Tables turned

Good evening blogger world, here's a first for me and this blog - I'm posting from my boyfriends flat. This post wasn't within the agenda at all tonight; boyfriend picked me up after work today, whisked me around to his, fed me (in more ways than one) and now we're getting ready to go out for a few beers in his part of the woods. So time is an issue with this post but whilst boyfriend is in the shower I'll give it my best shot!

Why do I blog with time being so critical? Well, I just had to tell you about the meal that was cooked for me this evening. You see when we're together my boyfriend usually comes around to my house since he has the car - it's easier and simpler; there are exceptions to this rule but for the most part that's how it goes. Hence, when he's at my house I play the genial host and do the majority of the cooking - not all of it but the majority, it's just how I like it; I enjoy it and I think it's only fair - he's a guest in my house, a semi-permanent guest these days and always a very welcome guest. I like to look after him when all is said and done, that's all.

So this evening the tables have been turned, I'm the guest whilst my boyfriend is the host; and what a wonderful host he makes, what a wonderful meal he made. It was just so simple and yet so satisfying, real comfort food made with care and attention; and cooked to perfection. He made sausages and mash with onion gravy - like I said nothing spectacular but the best meal I've eaten in ages, just so tasty. For me that's real food and if I'd been served that in a restaurant I'd have gladly paid the bill, no problems; and I'm not just saying that because I feel I have to - because I don't want to upset my boyfriend, I'm saying it because it's the absolute truth. That's why I'm sat here writing this when I should be getting ready to go out, trying to cram this into the short amount of time I know I have. But that's the purpose of this blog to capture these moments before they're lost.

If I'd have known how good it was going to be I would have taken a photo of it for prosperity, seriously; but seeming as though I missed out on the opportunity you'll have to do with a photo of where the culinary masterpiece was created - my boyfriends kitchen. Just check out how neat and tidy he's got it, everything has a place and everything is in its' place - it puts mine to shame; every room within his flat is pretty much the same, he's very well domesticated. Which will come in handy when he has to wash the bed linen tomorrow - that does make a welcome change and is something I will not miss! (I told you I've been fed in more ways than one).

He's also done the sweetest thing ever, which perhaps I shouldn't blog about, but it's so twee and loveable I can't resist. Upon turning his computer on and logging onto the internet he's changed his home page to my blog, it's the first thing he sees when he logs on, like I said isn't that the sweetest thing ever? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
